I picked up Bumble and Bumble's Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Primer a while ago. I've been using it irregularly to see how it feels and if it does all it claims to do. Overall, it is a light primer with a mild soapy/floral scent that feels moisturizing as soon as I spray it on my locks.
The idea behind a hair primer is similar to that of a makeup primer.
It fills in any holes in your hair so that any other products you layer on top work even better.
Better style memory (aka, the ability for your hair to hold a style)
It helps detangle!
It reduces your frizz!
most importantly (in my opion) it can protect your hair from heat or UV damage both of which can cause haircolor to fade quickly and do irrepairable damage.
I turned it around this morning to read the ingredients and curiousity struck! The second ingredient is Cetearyl Alcohol. Now at this point, my mind hears warning bells... alcohol? Basic hair knowledge tells me that alcohol is a drying agent. I think of rubbing alcohol or isopropyl alcohol that you can clean with. It dries up on its own rather quickly. So I'm going to look into what Cetearyl Alcohol is/does/can do for your hair and why its the second ingredient in this product... be back soon!
